- Use warm water to mix the batter. This will help the batter to ferment faster.
- Cover the bowl with a lid to prevent the batter from drying out.
- Let the batter ferment in a warm place. The ideal temperature for fermentation is 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- If the batter does not ferment after 3 hours, you can add a pinch of sugar to help it ferment.
- Steam the idlis in a steamer that is filled with enough water to create steam.
- Do not overcook the idlis. They should be cooked through, but they should not be dry.
